About 500,000 household pumps are replaced in Venezuela every year. In units, they grow 60% year on year. On the side of wells, water systems and industry, about 18,700 units are replaced.

Replacement is between 80% and 89% of the market in units. The market lives on replacement.

The household segment is also countercyclical. It grows when the country gets worse and shrinks when it improves. Its cycle runs about four years.

It is the only natural hedge this market offers. The other segments move the opposite way.

For a C-suite executive, that changes the commercial plan. A replacement market is played on price, logistics and inventory turnover. Project sales take a back seat.
