The Venezuelan insurance sector collected $1,132 million in premiums in 2025. In 2021 it collected $515.4 million. It grew 119% in five years, in hard currency.

The pace, however, falls every year without exception: 39.7%, 20.5%, 17.1% and 11.4%.

One warning before quoting sector figures. The most cited one, $652.9 million, covers January to June 2026. Using it as an annual figure understates the market by half.

The regulator publishes in bolivars. The dollar figures are the study’s conversion, month by month, at the average rate. The series that converts the year-to-date total at the closing rate falls 32% in 2025.

For a C-suite executive, the news is the slope. A plan that projects 2022 growth overestimates the market ahead.
