Figure · Assets that do not operate

Guyana already produces about 60% of the oil Venezuela produces

Guyana had no oil industry a decade ago. Today it produces about 60% of what Venezuela produces.

The study notes it will exceed one million barrels per day in 2027. Treat that figure as a projection, not as data.

The comparison is uncomfortable. Venezuela has the largest proven reserves in the world. Guyana started from zero and is already catching up in production.

The difference lies in the ability to turn resource into output: contract framework, capital and execution.

For a C-suite executive, the resource advantage is not enough. A project in Venezuela competes for capital with neighbors that execute faster.
